Overview
Full-day city escape from Istanbul to Sapanca and Masukiye, including lunch and a mountain ride. The Sapanca and Masukiye Tour is one of our favourite day excursions from Istanbul, especially for environment enthusiasts. On a 14-hour day journey to Lake Sapanca and the town of Masukiye on the Gulf of Izmit, you can escape the hustle and bustle of Istanbul and explore a popular weekend hideaway from the city. Climb Kartepe Mountain after a leisurely lunch beneath a canopy of trees. A full-day journey away from Istanbul’s hustle and bustle to the Gulf of Izmit and the freshwater lake of Lake Sapanca. Transfer to Lake Sapanca for a nature walk after being picked up from your accommodation in the city center. Lake Sapanca is recognised for its picturesque splendour and is located on a tectonic hole between Izmit Bay and the Adapazari Meadow. Proceed to the lovely town of Masukiye for lunch beneath a tree canopy. Then, before climbing Kartepe Mountain, drive to a waterfall. Walk in the mountains or, if you want, ride the ski lift. Explore a favourite spot for summer picnics and winter ski trips.
Return to your accommodation in Istanbul at the end of the excursion.
Please bring a coat and cap during the cold months.

A gorgeous lake with very clean water. strongly recommended, if you visit this lake one time you will surely try to come back again. Food is good. The staff doesn’t really speak much English.
